Raging Hunakwa Lake fire prompts partial evacuation of Seymour Arm

SEYMOUR ARM, B.C. — The growing Hunakwa Lake wildfire has led the Columbia Shuswap Regional District to evacuate a portion of the community of Seymour Arm.
The order was made as of 8:00 a.m. Thursday (July 22).
It applies to:
- All Seymour Arm properties in the neighbourhood of Tranquility Bay
- All properties east of Seymour Arm Bay Road and Seymour River Road at Bughouse Bay and including Tipman Road and Bradley Road and the boat-in only properties
- Any properties within the red boundary on the map below:

Evacuees are asked to check in at the Emergency Support Services reception centre set up at the Lakeview Community Centre, 7703 Squilax-Anglemont Road in Anglemont.
As of Wednesday, the Hunakwa Lake fire was measured at 1,100 hectares and out of control.
