Third WolfPack volleyballer involved in horrific crash remains in medically-induced coma: fundraiser
KAMLOOPS — Loved ones of the third member of the TRU WolfPack men’s volleyball team involved in a terrible crash in Kamloops last week say he has sustained severe brain trauma.
Owen Waterhouse has been identified as one of the occupants of a car involved in a violent crash along McGill Road last Wednesday (Nov. 29). The other two were his WolfPack teammates Owyn McInnis and Riley Brinnen. Tragically, McInnis lost his life in the crash.
In a GoFundMe fundraising campaign, organizer Lynn Bogert says Waterhouse was born and raised in Kelowna and his family owns a small business in the Okanagan city.
Bogert describes Waterhouse as “an extraordinary young man who lights up any room he enters with his smile.”
The fundraiser notes Waterhouse has sustained severe brain trauma and remains in critical condition in the Royal Inland Hospital intensive care unit (ICU) in a medically-induced coma.
Bogert says the fundraiser is meant to help the Waterhouse family as it spends time away from home, and to help Owen with “all the treatment and rehabilitation that will be involved on the long, unpaved road ahead.”
