Brewski 2025: Good Times on the Trails and at the Grill
On Sunday, March 9, 2025, the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club once again brought the community together for its much-loved annual fundraiser, The Brewski. With sunshine, snow-covered trails, and local craft brews flowing, this lively event celebrated the best of Northern BC winter fun—with a BBQ twist. This year's Brewski offered attendees the perfect mix of skiing, snacks, craft beer and cider tastings, live music, and of course, a BBQ meal to tie it all together. With about 250 people fed, including a team of dedicated volunteers, it was a packed and joyful day on the trails. Thanks to support from the Integris ICUBBQ, the club saved on event expenses, allowing them to focus on what matters most—community connection and raising funds. The result? A fantastic day on the snow and $3,000 raised for the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club. These funds will support programs, trails, and events that promote healthy, active living in the North. Events like The Brewski highlight how innovative community partnerships like the ICUBBQ help stretch resources, enrich experiences, and bring people together. We’re proud to support community-driven events that celebrate movement, music, local flavours, and the power of gathering together. Caledonia Nordic Ski Club

Listening, Learning, and Honouring Stories: Supporting C.A.R.E.’s Circle Talks
At Integris Credit Union, we believe that reconciliation starts with listening. That’s why we’re honoured to support the work of Canadian Artists for Reconciliation and Education (C.A.R.E.), a volunteer-run, non-profit society amplifying Indigenous voices through story-sharing and education. Following the discovery of unmarked graves in May 2021, artists and art administrators came together with a shared goal: to ensure Indigenous stories are heard and remembered, not forgotten with the headlines. In July 2023, C.A.R.E. became an incorporated society and launched its core initiative: Circle Talks ~ Stories of Resilience. These monthly sessions—held online and in person—invite Indigenous artists, musicians, and knowledge-keepers to share their stories in a safe, respectful space. Participants can join from anywhere and are welcome to simply listen or share their reflections in a moderated format. Every session is free to attend and recorded with consent, allowing for future learning through C.A.R.E.’s online archive. With financial support from the Integris Community Investment Council and other supporters, C.A.R.E. is able to offer modest honorariums to speakers and cover basic operating costs such as website hosting. This support helps the organization stay accessible and sustainable. The Impact Supporting Truth & ReconciliationCircle Talks provide a healing space for Indigenous voices to be shared, acknowledged, and preserved. Promoting Respect & InclusivityAll attendees are welcome to engage or simply listen in an environment that fosters learning and understanding. Reducing BarriersBy remaining free and virtual, Circle Talks are accessible to anyone with internet access—no matter where they live. Creating a Lasting LegacyEach recorded session becomes part of an ever-growing archive of lived experiences, offering continued opportunities to learn, reflect, and grow.0 We’re humbled to be a part of this journey. Through listening and learning, we move together toward reconciliation. 📍 Learn more or join a future Circle Talk:www.careartistsforreconciliation.org Canadian Artists for Reconciliation & Education (C.A.R.E.)

Strengthening Healthcare Close to Home with Spirit of the North!
At Integris Credit Union, strong communities begin with access to quality care. We’re honoured to play a role in advancing healthcare across Northern BC through our partnership with the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. Over the past year, our contributions have helped provide critical medical equipment to hospitals throughout the region, ensuring patients can access the care they need closer to home. Tools like the ATS Tourniquet System, Tovertafel Projector, CONMED camera, and Fetal Fibronectin Analyzer have made a tangible difference for people of all ages—from newborns to seniors—across the North. In addition to funding vital equipment, we proudly sponsored the Twilight in the Treetops event at the Foundation’s Festival of Trees—a new, sold-out evening that helped raise significant funds while celebrating the spirit of the community. Events like these support healthcare and showcase Prince George and Northern BC as vibrant, inclusive places to live and visit. The impact of this partnership is deeply rooted in improving lives: ·       Seniors are benefiting from the Tovertafel projector, a tool that encourages interactive play and connection in long-term care homes. ·       Expectant mothers and infants receive earlier, more accurate diagnoses with the Fetal Fibronectin Analyzer, reducing the need to travel to larger centres. ·       Cancer patients will soon be able to receive treatment closer to home thanks to the upcoming installation of the Star Guide System. This partnership has helped lower financial barriers, enhance preventative health initiatives, and tackle regional challenges by ensuring patients receive care in their own communities, where healing is often most effective. We are proud to support the mission of Spirit of the North and are grateful for their dedicated efforts to transform healthcare in Northern BC. We deeply value this partnership and are committed to its continued growth—because quality care shouldn’t require a long journey. --- 📍 Learn more about Spirit of the North’s initiatives and how your support can make a difference: 👉 www.spiritofthenorth.ca

2025 Playoff BBQ Thank you to everyone who came out to our 2025 Playoff BBQ last week. What an amazing afternoon and the perfect way to kick off our playoff season. It was great to see all our fans young and old come out and take part in the BBQ, road hockey with the team, mini sticks, cornhole, and getting photos and autographs with their favourite players. A special thank you to Integris for lending us your BBQ and for your continuous support of the team! In total we gave away 850 FREE hotdogs to season members and fans of the team. Story by I Challenge Diabetes
In 2024, Beem Credit Union generously supported our Burnaby Diabetes Sports Camp, providing crucial funding that helped us supply the necessary equipment and materials for a safe and enriching camp experience. We are truly grateful for their partnership. The feedback from camp surveys was overwhelmingly positive, with 94% of participants reporting that the camp empowered them to live well with diabetes, and 80% sharing that their self-esteem had increased as a result of attending.
It’s because of these great supporters that our community can use the Do Some Good platform for free!
