Evacuation order issued for Bowron Lake Park area

An evacuation order has been issued by the Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre for five parcels in the Bowron Lake Park area.

The order — issued due to immediate danger to life safety due to fire — covers nearly 129,000 hectares.

The evacuation route is Bowron Lake Road to Highway 26 to Quesnel.

Those in the area are asked to leave immediately.

Evacuation orders are also in effect for the District of Wells and the Barkerville area.

An evacuation alert has been issued for 316 parcels in the Browntop Mountain area.

The nearby Antler Creek wildfire is measured at 3,380 hectares as of Monday afternoon.
