KAMLOOPS — As temperatures plummet below -20 C Friday (Jan. 12), at least one school in the Kamloops area will be sending students home.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) on the city’s North Shore posted a notice online stating the school doesn’t have heat in several of its classrooms Friday morning as a result of the extreme cold.
The school will be sending students home at 12:00 noon and, for the time being, all students have been moved into the remaining classrooms that have heat.
OLPH says the childcare centre does have heat, so daycare will not need to close early and after-school care will still be open.
