First building permit issued for residential home in Lytton

LYTTON, B.C. — A milestone in the long-delayed rebuilding of Lytton.

The village says it has issued its first building permit for a single-family rebuild.

Much of the village was destroyed by wildfire on June 30, 2021. Since then, various rounds of red tape have prevented a fulsome rebuild.

The village issued the permit on Friday (Oct. 27) to Jerry and Lilliane Bannister for their home on Station Street.
