TNRD issues evacuation alert near Adams Lake-area fire

ADAMS LAKE, B.C. — The Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) has put 12 properties on evacuation alert near the Bush Creek East wildfire, on the west side of Adams Lake.
As of Sunday morning (July 23), the fire is listed at 380 hectares. B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS) officials say it is burning from south to north.
The properties under alert are in the area of Fadear Creek Road, as outlined in the map below.

Residents in this area must be ready to leave on very short notice.
On the east side of Adams Lake, the Lower East Adams Lake fire has increased in size to 724 hectares.
BCWS says, because of the difficult terrain around this fire, it is unsafe for ground crews to attack it.
The TNRD, the Columbia Shuswap Regional District and the Adams Lake Indian Band have all issued evacuation alerts in relation to this fire.
