Gas leak leads to evacuation in Cache Creek

CACHE CREEK, B.C. — UPDATE: The Village of Cache Creek says the situation has stabilized and residents are now allowed to return to their homes.
EARLIER: A small evacuation was triggered in Cache Creek Friday morning (June 9) after a gas leak.
According to a Voyent! Alert message sent to local residents, the leak occurred in the area of Valleyview Drive and Parke Road.
The message notes it could be about four hours until the situation is resolved.

While authorities work to evacuate the affected properties, a reception centre has been set up at the Cache Creek Community Hall.
