RCMP major crimes unit on scene at fire-damaged Kamloops home

KAMLOOPS — A heavy police presence was on scene Tuesday (April 11) at a home in the 900-block of Seymour Street. The home on the corner of Ninth Avenue and Seymour was the scene of a fire last Thursday.
Kamloops RCMP were unable to confirm the cause of the fire at that time, but police were observed outside of the home throughout the weekend.
Tuesday (April 11), a forensic team, along with RCMP members equipped in hazmat gear were set up at the residence.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. James Grandy confirmed that the South East District Major Crime Unit is on scene as the location relates to an active investigation.
No further details were released.
