Bloody rug turned in to Barriere detachment related to Kamloops man’s murder: RCMP
KAMLOOPS — RCMP say a bloody rug turned in to the Barriere RCMP detachment is related to the murder of a Kamloops-area man.
In a news release issued Monday (April 3), RCMP say the man who was killed is local resident Peter Daniel Casimir. RCMP do not divulge any details as to when or if Casimir’s body was found.
“The murder of Mr. Casimir was targeted and that no danger to the public exists,” said Staff Sgt. Jason Smart, head of the RCMP’s Southeast District Major Crime Unit, who has taken over the investigation.
Investigators now want to catch up with anyone who has dealing with Casimir this year, particularly last month. They want to determine his movements and who he had contact with.
RCMP note Casimir is known to have used the alias ‘Jake Maserski’.
Police are also soliciting tips as to the origin of the bloody Ikea rug.
Anyone who knows anything about either the rug or Casimir is asked to contact the Southeast District Major Crime Unit at 1 (877) 987-8477.
