Evacuation Order for dozens of properties south of Kamloops Lake
Update 8:50 P.M. – KAMLOOPS – A second Evacuation Order has been put in place for an additional 95 properties northeast of Logan Lake because of the Durand Lake wildfire.
The properties are identified as:
- 4704 to 4792 Atwater Rd;
- 4700 to 4870 Mile High Lane;
- 4812 to 4897 Paska Lake Rd;
- 4730 to 4890 Pine Ridge Way;
- 4830 to 4860 Saddle Cres; and
- other properties as identified within the red area of the map below.
Evacuation Map – Thompson – Nicola Regional District
KAMLOOPS – The Thompson – Nicola Regional District has ordered the evacuation of 71 properties southwest of Kamloops due to a fast moving wildfire.
The order went into effect at 7 p.m. Friday evening because of the Durand Lake fire. It was first spotted earlier in the day by the BC Wildfire Service.
The 71 properties are identified as:
- 9273 to 9437 Dominic Lake Forest Service Rd;
- 4445 Greenstone Rd;
- 2380 to 5625 Tunkwa Lake Rd; and
- other properties as identified within the red area of the map below.
Thompson Nicola Regional District Evacuation Order
Campers at the Tunkwa Lake Provincial Park also fall within the boundaries of the Evacuation Order.
The TNRD says you must leave immediately if you are in the described area.
If you can stay with friends or family, register for Emergency Support Services by reporting to the McArthur Island Sports Centre parking lot at 1655 Island Pkwy in Kamloops. To self-register as an evacuee at McArthur Island Sports Centre in you can use the Evacuee Registration & Assistance (ERA) Tool.
Evacuees who require Emergency Support Service with group lodging should report to the Merritt Reception Centre at 1950 Mamette Avenue in Merritt or Chilliwack Senior Secondary School at 46363 Yale Road in Chilliwack.
