Diabolica Wines – Diabolica Red Wine (March 12)
Al Deacon from the Sahali Liquor Store in again for Linda this week for Test A Wine Tuesday with something devilishly delicious: The Diabolica Red Wine! Tantalize your taste buds with this blend of Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot (plus a little bit of Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir). Red cherry, tart pomegranate and violet are the first to greet you followed by juicy flavours of black tea, licorice, black cherries, boysenberry, and ripe plums that extend through the silky finish. Big, yet approachable. You’ll want more.
Of course, we’re thinking about Devil’s Food Cake as, dare we say it, a heavenly pairing. Some other tantalizing treats are stone baked pizza smothered in tomato sauce, a grilled steak with sautéed mushrooms, and certain spicy foods, like an arrabiata sauce with pasta or meat rubs with a kick.
